Baptism

Welcome to all seeking to Baptize their child here at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. We are here to help encourage you, to continue bringing up your child in the Catholic Faith.

Parents and Godparents are the primary principal educators of the child to be Baptized.

We celebrate the sacrament of baptism with infants at weekend Masses throughout the year. A preparation session is required if this is a couple's first child or if it has been more than three years since the last child was baptized. We offer the Baptism Preparation classes the Fourth Monday of every month at 7pm and runs for about an hour and a half. We require for both parents and godparents to attend. For more questions or concerns you can contact the Parish office at 226-9379 x 10.

For older children and adults, we have a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).For further information you can contact Wayne Beasley at 255-3274.

Guidelines for the Celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism
for Persons with Disabilities

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church wants to ensure that the sacrament of baptism in the church is made available to persons with disabilities.

The following guidelines were developed for ministers and other staff who are involved in the sacrament of baptism in order to accommodate persons with disabilities:

·
Any person with a disability and/or their sponsor with a disability may remain on the ground level where the priest or deacon will use a portable baptismal bowl.

·
The baptism will be administered at the church’s floor level centered in front of the altar area.

Parking spaces with the International Symbol of Access (wheelchair symbol) are designated in the church parking lot. Ramp access from the parking lot is provided at the south east entrance of the Church. All doors leading to the main floor level are wheelchair accessible. There are also three bathrooms with full disability access.

Welcome to our Parish!

Questions may be directed to the St. John the Baptist priests or Rectory Office at 707-226-9379 extension 10.
