St. John the Baptist Today
God has continued to bless the parish with growth and diversity. Today, St. John the Baptist is the largest parish in the Diocese of Santa Rosa. Over 3,600 active families (and growing at a rate of six families per week) reflect the rich multicultural community of our Valley, providing 42 ministries serving thousands of people from all walks of life. Vocations also flourish from the parish as six parishioners are in the seminary or in the application to become priests. There are six couples in formation of ministry and service in the Deaconate Program. The parish is central to the life of Napa Valley.
Yet, the growth in population, the 21st century needs of our community, and the age of our buildings have left our parish facilities inadequate, inefficient, and expensive to operate. The worship space in the church is in much need of improved functionality and upgrades. There are increased facility needs for our youth, elderly, and all our members. So for only the fourth time in 153 years, St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish will seek significant resources to provide for the present growth and to meet the diverse needs of our sacred faith family that God has brought together in the legacy of hope Building Faith and Future.
