The sacrament of anointing is celebrated during the seasons of Advent and Lent. It may also be celebrated at any time for someone who is seriously ill or entering the hospital for surgery. Each time I administer the Sacrament of the Sick, I experience a shared encounter with Christ with the person I am Anointing. There is a power that is so evident and beyond both of us as we turn to the Lord for healing.
