Prayer Line
The Prayer Line consists of a small group of dedicated volunteers who pray for specific needs upon request. The request may be generated from a parishioner or another person, or through a Prayer-Line member. As prayer requests are received, the coordinator of the ministry shares the request with the next prayer line volunteer, who in turn passes the information to the next person, and so on, until all members have been contacted - and are praying together for the specific needs requested. All prayers are kept in complete confidence - and if necessary, may be kept non-specific, such as, "please pray for a special intention for Pat". By becoming a prayer line member, you are an intercessor. We are taught by scripture that an intercessor takes the place of the person being prayed for. That person cannot pray for themselves because of illness, under anesthesia, too young, lack of faith, etc. We step in and pray FOR them. You are bringing these people to Jesus for healing by standing in for them. Your prayers are sometimes all they have. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with a burden, please contact the Prayer Line at 226-8408 and we will pray for you. We know and affirm with you that God's healing love will give you the strength to handle all situations in your life. If you would like to volunteer for this wonderful ministry, please contact Irene Christian at 226-8408. Many people cannot engage directly in ministry, but we can all pray! |
If you have ever helped anyone in need, if you have ever given anyone the opportunity to help you, then you experienced true grace — God's free gifts to us!
