Fr. Ramon was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. He is the eldest of five children –one brother and three sisters. He completed his philosophical studies at Saint Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Santo Domingo and theological studies in Valencia, Spain. Following his ordination as a priest into the Order of Augustinian Recollects in 1988, Father Ramon volunteered to work in Nicaragua. Later he was transferred to Panama and in 2002 he was incardinated into the Diocese of Santa Rosa.
Prior to becoming associate pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in March 2012, Fr. Ramon served two years at Saint Joseph (Fortuna), three years at Saint Rose of Lima (Santa Rosa), three years at Our Lady of Guadalupe (Windsor). In his career he also served Saint Vincent de Paul (Petaluma), Saint Teresa de Jesus (Bodega), and Saint Mary (Fullerton). He was also an instructor of diverse matters in Theology for Deaconate students at the Santa Rosa and Sacramento Dioceses.
Organizations and Services: Elected to the Priest Council representing Humboldt and Del Norte (2010 to present). Director of the Hispanic Ministry Office Humboldt and Del Norte (2002 to 2005). Advocate to the Tribunal Ecclesiastical (2001 to 2005). Spiritual Director for Deacons at the Diocese of Santa Rosa (1999 to 2003, 2009 to present). Member elected to the Priest Council representing South Sonoma Deanery (2000 to 2002).
